Welcome to Green Dragon Soap Co. We are Phill and Morrigan Shields, a father-daughter duo operating right out of beautiful Motueka, New Zealand.

This whole adventure started as a side hustle with a hidden agenda: teaching a young entrepreneur the ropes of running a real business. What better way to learn about practical math, profit margins, and exothermic chemical reactions than by making soap from scratch?

Our brand is a nod to our family’s story. With a name steeped in Irish mythology and a proud blend of Irish and Chinese heritage, we wanted an identity that felt like us. The Green Dragon represents the luck, strength, and vibrancy of our roots. Plus, it makes for some seriously cool product names.

We handcraft honest, minimalist, cold-process soaps and heavy-duty dish blocks. No plastic bottles, no unnecessary junk, and absolutely no myths, just pure chemistry, hard work, and legendary lather.
